My 4 and 2 year olds are avid readers. They really love books in a series because there tends to be some predictable features. Well, this Pete the Cat doesn't really adhere to the normal Pete the Cat format. Other reviews mention this, if you want more details. However, I specifically purchased this one because there are not as many books about Thanksgiving compared to say, Christmas or Halloween, and I have been very satisfied with my purchase for that reason. The book gives some good history - other Thanksgiving books typically have the characters eat Thanksgiving dinner without giving many details as to WHY we celebrate Thanksgiving.

Another fun Pete the Cat story! This is a lift-the-flap book depicting the story of the pilgrims and the first thanksgiving. It is very simplified but perfect for my preschooler & kindergartner. Typical Pete artwork and text. A holiday must for Pete fans.
My kids have gotten into Pete the Cat at their school, somehow I missed the boat on this one, so I am playing catch up. I bought the button book first, very cute & I enjoyed the kids singing me the song. Then I bought on the farm, and was disappointed that it was just the song Old McDonald Had a Farm with Pete the Cat pictures. Bummer. I ordered this at the same time, and it arrived later, and I was pleasantly surprised to see it was Lift-The-Flap---I missed that in the description. I think it's very cute, I like the pictures. I haven't read the story thoroughly, but for a 3 and 5 year old, I think it will be fine.

My 5yrs. old grandson loves these Pete the Cat books! My daughter wanted to teach him about Thanksgiving. This book has colorful pictures and fun drawings but at the same time presents the information in an interesting format for kids. He will gain a better understanding of what Thanksgiving is about and then this holiday will mean more to him. has a Thanksgiving Activities Book that I gave him along with this one which will enforce the Story of Thanksgiving. Learning to be thankful is important for kids to know. This is a fun way to get them thinking.
